Article title: Acne agony

Acne develops when sebaceous gland that produce too much an oily substance called, sebum and cells stick together and block the gland opening, forming a plug. The plug content leaks into the surrounding skin and tissue, forming a pimple. Severe form of acne has a constant outbreak covering the face, neck, back, chest, and groin. These pus-filled pimples and cysts can cause deep pitting and scarring.

No one knows exactly the causes of acne. Some researchers do know that it usually starts in adolescence and that heredity plays a big role. If one of your parents had acne, there's a highly possible chance you'll develop it. Some scientists think that a hormone called androgen stimulates the sebum-producing glands which cause acne. Boys produce 10 times as much androgen as girls, so it's not surprising that more boys than girls develop severe cases of acne. Drugs, exposure to industrial oils, grease, chemicals, stress and strong emotion, some oily cosmetics and shampoos can also trigger acne.

There is no scientific evidence to back up these claims that certain foods, such as chocolate and “junk foods” cause acne and make it worse. Some experts say oily skin and hair don’t actually cause acne, not all people with oily skin have acne. And some people with dry skin do!

In one Swedish study, most people's acne improved after exposure to the sun. But not all doctors agree that sunlight is helpful. Some say it may just be relaxing in the sun that makes the pimples vanish. At any rate, the idea that the sun improves acne by drying out greasy skin doesn't hold water; sun and heat increase oil production. Besides that, mild acne can often be cleared up simply by washing your face once or twice daily and avoiding any food or drink you think could trigger an outbreak. Finally, do not picking at your pimples, this may injure the skin and underlying tissues.

In conclusion, although acne is not a serious health threat, severe acne can lead to disfiguring, permanent scarring, which upsetting for people who suffer from the disorder. So, do not hesitate, visit a dermatologist, a doctor who specializes in treating skin problems if your acne getting worse or won’t clear up with home treatment.
